Welcome to Last Race Ranch! 

 

We are joining other passionate horse lovers who want to help in finding new homes and new careers for the extremely deserving racehorses who have given us so much of their hearts and energy.   We are starting a campaign, collaborating with many others, racehorses need our help, our attention, our love, to help them with their futures.

Do you know that horses can live to over 25 years old?  A racehorse’s career represents on average 15-20% of their lives if they race a full career.  This means, a racehorse’s life’s legacy is 80-85% remembered in his or hers next life doing something else.  We have chosen to invest our time and money into horse racing, because we love the sport and we love the horses who possess the talent to compete.  Thoroughbreds are born to run, out in the wild to run free in herds competing with themselves to be the dominant ones of their herd.  They represent centuries and centuries of civilizations as a foundational animal integral to their survival in war, transportation, and trade.  Although technology has well advanced from ancient times, the horse remains a pinnacle figure of many cultures around the world and our connection to them functionally, emotionally, and spiritually has not wavered.  They deserve our love and kindness always. 

 

With that, our Mission Statement describes our purpose, our primary goal for each horse who retires from the racetrack, “Giving new homes and new lives to our well deserved racehorses who have giving us so much back, after their last race.”
